Is Vanellope autistic? ›

A good example is Vannelope, who could be considered neurodivergent by her “glitch” (Autistic/Tourette's), and by the end of the film, she proclaims how she is will always be her, everything around her changed except for her, because she accepts that without her programming, she wouldn't be who she is.

Ralph and Vanellope's relationship is interesting because (in my eyes, anyway) it has the potential to represent SO many different forms of love. In the movie they're friends – best friends – but at times I saw Ralph flit over to more of a paternal role; he worries for Vanellope's safety and wants to keep her close.

As Ralph listens intently, King Candy claims that Vanellope's glitching would have the players think the game was broken, putting the cabinet in danger of being unplugged.
